Having joined the company back in 1991 as a Toolmaker, Jon has progressed through the company via engineering to Operations Director, and ultimately Managing Director in 2020. With a high level of engineering, production and product experience in both the UK and abroad, Jon is looking to drive the business forward into the next decade, ensuring our large portfolio of customers remain and new relationships are developed.
Outside of work, Jon enjoys golf, the countryside and spending time with his partner on their boat in Portugal.
Mark is a born and bred Brummie, qualifying as an ACA with KPMG’s Birmingham office. After almost a decade building his own practice, Mark sold out in the late 80s, moving into our industry in the 90s. He then became FD and ultimately MD of Forms UK in Solihull, where he and his team took the turnover from £7m to £14m. Since then, Mark has focussed on part time FD assignments to SMEs throughout the country. Contributions include fundraising – both equity and debt, supplier management, preparation of accounts, cash flow forecasts and budgets.
Mark’s driving philosophies are that “cash is king and turnover is vanity”.
With over 30 years of experience selling rolled products to all types of industries, Steve is responsible for the sales of ball chain and rolled metal products. He has been involved within the ball chain business for the past 12 years, where he is always thinking outside the box to offer supply agreements to match customer’s requirements.
Outside of work, Steve enjoys photography and playing golf.
Kelly has been a part of the metals industry since 2003, and joined Sturge in 2013. She is responsible for day to day account management, maintaining high levels of customer service and expanding our existing customer base.
Outside of work, Kelly enjoys baking, getting out and about with her family, and maintaining the social calendars of two children.
Lisa has been a part of the Sturge family since 2003, and is now Internal Sales Manager for The Ballchain Division. Her responsibilities include account management for all our UK, EU and worldwide customers, from initial enquiry through to credit control, all while upholding a high level of customer service and rapport with each customer.
Lisa’s hobbies include sailing and playing the piano. She is also an active member of both the DYnamics Rock & Pop Choir, and Gareth Malone’s Great British Home Chorus.
Amy joined Sturge in 2019, moving to the Midlands from Yorkshire. With an excellent understanding of the accounts process brought on by 13 years of experience and an AAT qualification, Amy has previously held positions as an Office Junior, Accounts Assistant, and Management Accountant within various manufacturing and retail companies.
In her spare time, Amy is a mother to one young boy, and her interests include cooking, films, exercise and maintaining her wellbeing.
Len has worked in finance since the mid-70s, mainly with heavy engineering, foundry and manufacturing companies. He joined Sturge in 2018 as Financial Controller, reporting to the FD and MD.
Len is married with two daughters and two grandchildren, while his other hobbies and interest include his dog Boxers, and motorcycling: not just watching motorcycling, but also riding, as he is a Blood Biker.
Tom joined the Sturge team in 2011. His key responsibilities include production planning, KPI measurement and analysis, maintaining our quality management system, health and safety, and IT support.
Outside of work, Tom enjoys reading, learning new skills, and growing chilli plants.
